5 Best Beaches in Downeast Maine
Sand Beach
Downeast Maine isn’t well known for its sandy beaches. In fact, you will find more rocky beaches here than sandy beaches, but Sand Beach in Acadia National Park, is just that, SAND! Located off of the Park Loop Rd, Sand Beach is a great place for snapping pictures, laying out to get some sun, or stopping to eat a snack on your way to Cadillac. Be warned though, parking can be a tricky situation, so make sure to plan ahead!

Seal Harbor Beach
Seal Harbor Beach, located in the village of Seal Harbor, is a quaint area, with friendly locals. It boasts a swing set for the kids to play on, and being directly across from Stanley Brook entrance of Acadia, Seal Harbor beach is the perfect place to stop on your scenic ocean drive.

Lamoine Beach
If you’re looking for tidepools, and lots of sea creatures, look no further than Lamoine Beach. With over a mile and half of beach, Lamoine Beach is a great place to take a break from the crowds, and let the kids explore. Along with great sea life, they also have a nice grassy area for picnics, and is a great spot for watching the sunrise.

Jasper Beach
Jasper Beach is known for its beach made from millions of tumbled jasper stones, dubbed “singing stones” from the sound the water makes as they move about in the tide. Though these stones are beautiful, it is prohibited to remove them from the beach.

Carters Beach
A great place for beach combing, Carters Beach in Hancock offers a beautiful place to search for sea glass, have a picnic, or do some bird watching. Owned by the Crabtree Neck Land Conservation (CNLT), Carters beach is an unspoiled area sure to provide you with that Maine experience.
